Many times, a career choice overrides location. If that's the case with you, there are many resources. The U.S. Department of Labor maintains a comprehensive site with many links and resources. Other sources would be trade associations, colleges with the career programs of interest, and potential employers.

U.S. Department of Labor
The U.S. Department of Labor offers many resources for career and job searches. Each year, they produce the Occupational Outlook Handbook with listings of jobs, their aptitudes, work setting, earnings, and required training.

The U.S. Department of Labor America's Job Bank provides serious on-line "one-stop" access to many job search resources. The site provides job listings at Job Bank, resources for job seekers including on-line resume postings at CareerOneStop, and career exploration resources at CareerInfoNet.
