| Different
classes and disciplines have particular ways and methods of writing
research papers. These various methods are called styles. It is
very important to structure your paper in the appropriate style
for your class. There are two main styles used at Maui Community
College – MLA and APA.
MLA:
Modern Language Association’s style often used for English
and humanities papers.
The Works Cited list
appears at the end of your paper and, as its title suggests, lists
only the works you have cited or used to write your paper.
APA: American Psychological Society’s style
often used for psychological and scientific reports.
The Reference List appears
at the end of your paper and, as its title suggests, lists only
the references you have cited or used to write your paper.
