Q: WHAT HAPPENS IF I WANT TO ADD, DROP OR WITHDRAW FROM MY CLASSES?

A: Check the schedule of classes for dates relating to refunds, erase period and the last day to withdraw with a ʻWʻ grade. Read below for general descriptions.

1) During the erase period (generally the first 3 weeks of classes), as you add or drop classes your financial aid will adjust itself automatically. Check your UH portal for any tuition balances that you may owe as a result of adding or dropping classes.

Important notes:
There are different refund periods. Due to these refund periods you may owe additional funds to school. Classes that you drop before the erase period do not show up on your transcript and does not affect your satisfactory academic progress.

2) After the erase period but before the last day to withdraw with a ʻWʻ –

-If you withdraw from all your classes you will probably owe back financial aid based on how long you were enrolled in a class.
-If you partially withdraw and complete your other classes you will not owe back any funds for the current semester but may affect your eligibility for future semesters.
-ʻWʻ grades do not affect your GPA but will lower your completion rate. You need to complete 67% of all classes attempted. Failing to do this could mean you are suspended and not eligible for financial aid. See our SAP link for more information about grades and financial aid.
